Coaching Program - 6 Methods to Create a Coaching Program

If you are reading this article, chances are, you are seriously considering creating coaching programs to either help your target market improve the quality of their lives or earn huge amount of money or both. Well, let me share with you these 6 methods that can make this endeavor a lot easier for you:

1. Set high expectations. Some people tend to underestimate their skills and their abilities. As a coach, you need to make your trainees believe that they can do so much more. When people have somebody who trusts them and who believes in them, they are most likely to push themselves a bit harder.

2. Before you start your program, ask your attendees what they expect to get from you. List and collect all their expectations and read them aloud in front of your class. Then, tell these people directly what you can offer and why you cannot commit to other things that are included in the list. By doing this, your trainees will have a solid idea on what they can look forward to and what they can't expect to happen during the course of your coaching program.

3. Practice what you preach. You can't tell your clients not to sound nervous if you sound nervous during your presentation. If you want your trainees to follow your directions, you need to lead by example.

4. Don't be afraid to admit failure. As they say, nobody's perfect and that applies to coaches and experts too. If there are things that you do not know very well, be very honest about it. If you are unable to deliver what is expected of you, admit it. Instead of taking these things against you, you can use them as learning experience so you can be a more effective coach.

5. Affirm the best for any situation. Instead on focusing on the negative side of the situation, always highlight or acknowledge the best things that transpired. Then, discuss the areas of opportunities to your class and work together to figure out how you can improve on them.

6. Keep in mind that coaching is a give and take process. You, as a coach, do not have to be the only source of information or directions. You can also learn from your trainees by asking them to share what they know from time to time.
